It all started when…
Long before YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, Monica was captivated by the art of makeup. As a young girl, she was the one giving her friends makeovers at sleepovers and sneaking her mom’s red lipstick, all while strutting around in black patent leather heels her mom “loaned” her. Though she had big shoes to fill, the little girl with big dreams grew up and fully embraced her purpose, turning her passion into a thriving side hustle.
With a college degree in TV Production & Business and a successful career in Advertising, Monica’s creativity has always flowed freely. After the passing of her mother, she decided to take a break from her career to heal. During this time, she dove deep into makeup artistry at Sephora, where she honed her skills, trained with top skincare and makeup brands, and worked with clients of all ages, ethnicities, and skin types. Makeup became her sanctuary—a meditative space where she could connect with the brush and refine her craft.
Monica’s philosophy on finding one’s inner "MoJo" is inspired by her own journey and her nickname. She believes in helping others discover their true glow from within, using their faces as blank canvases to enhance their natural beauty. Whether it’s working with clients one-on-one or collaborating with photographers on weddings, editorials, or other projects, she specializes in all things beauty.
Beyond makeup, Monica is also a musician at heart. During the early days of the pandemic, she rediscovered her love for the piano, re-training herself after a 25-year hiatus. With only 11 months of lessons as a child, she embraced the challenge of returning to the keys and reconnecting with her musical roots.
